Second game I won handily, even though all my Land Speeders immobilized themselves because of the mission special rules (the whole board was difficult terrain). I was playing mechanized Orcs. He had a good amount shooting and luck but it was not enough against the MSU marines with superior weaponry.
Third game was a bit frustrating. I was playing against a Dark Angels bike army with rerollable everything under the sun. Nevertheless, blind was king in this game. I blinded his bikes so many times. Problem was, when you have a billion bikes, eventually you whittle down even 11 land speeders. But being unable to cause casualties creates a lot of headshaking. However, I had it planned that i had things in reserve and i could take the main objective...the ruins in the middle of the board. Considering my opponent did not have any ObSec units left, it was ripe for the picking. Problem was...I got only 3 turns. I finished my 3rd turn with 50 minutes remaining of the original 2.5 hours. This would have been the last game turn for sure, but plenty of time for both of us and for me to win outright. My opponent knew it. When did my opponent turn his turn over to me? 3 minutes left. Not enough time for me to start my turn, so a full loss for me.
Overall, I'm very comfortable with how my list played. Its exceptionally fast, albeit fragile, so that give me tons of options on the battlefield. If nothing else, tons of people came over to see what all the talk was about on the "land speeder list". Apparently, it struck fear into nearly all the players. And its fun to play.
Happy hunting brothers!
