New Space Marine Codex

Hello everyone!  Hope everyone has been doing well!  I'm here today to give ya'll some good news!  While you have probably heard it already, for those that have not, here it is:  on June 16th, we get a new Space Marine codex.  Games Workshop has been going at a torrential pace with its codex releases.  That's okay.  Means we get new toys in an ever changing environment of beastly codices like the Eldar.  Unfortunately, we don't have a standalone codex.  And some of the pictures released of the codex is concerning (possibly no Crusader squads/LRC dedicated transports?), but we'll have to wait to see since the pictures were very limited.

Nevertheless, this is very good news, especially with Nova Open so close.  I didn't go through with commissioning my Neophyte Land Speeder Storm squads, because I knew a codex was on the horizon and didn't want to invalidate my army before Nova.  However, if it turns out that this archetype is still viable, I might still use it.  With that being said, I think I'm leaning a little bit into another direction.  I want to feed off of my previously Nova Open used Templarbubble and combo it with the Sisters of Battle (plus the Culexus Assassin since Nova is allowing 3 detachments).  We'll see how the points spread works out, but I'm excited since I have the majority of these already painted.  Anyway, I'll see you in about a week and we'll start digging into the new codex!  :D

Can confirm we have crusader squads, but the 'decurion' style detachment is a demi company/battle company and they didn't include crusaders in it. So without running CAD you have to run tactical squads for the codex detachment

If I am reading the codex correctly, any of the formations are available as detachments, so we can bring them as allied detachments to CAD. Decurion treats as all included formations/detachments as one singular detachment for rules purposes.

for the 'decurion' detachment
you can take 1-2 demi companies (2 demi companies makes it a battle company, giving it a bonus. You can take up to 3 HQ formations (the librarius conclave, although as black templars you can't take them, and if you ally them in and put them a templar squad the models lose all chapter tactics), so we can take 0-3 reclusion command formation (chaplan, command squad and razor back), and the 'all the HQ's' formation, but apparently it's not an actual formation so you can't take it as a CAD (i don't have codex to check atm)
then we get a mix of formations and not technically formations that can only be used for the strike force. 1-12 of these. I like first company task force the most, i can run 30 terminators at anything above 1050 points now!
but if you take the gladius strike force (demi company decurion detachment), the whole lot count as a single formation/detachment for rules purposes. sorry, i was trying to say something in particular but lost my train of thought and ended just saying what you said

I have nine marines with boltguns. Now they are forcing me to assemble more just to be able to take the new giant formation. I'm not upset, but I would prefer my crusaders.
