The Brutal Truth: To be continued...?

7/14/2011

Wow!  I didn't think that the first Brutal Truth article would be as such a hit as it was.  In fact, I wasn't even sure that it'd be a series at all.  I simply wanted to get that topic off my chest, so it was somewhat rant-y, but I kept my opinions fairly well grounded in supportive arguments.  Well, it definitely had the type of response I was expecting:  shock and awe.  Dozens of links pointing at the article and thousands of hits later, I'm continuing the series.  It didn't have the most comments, but it certainly was the most popular article I've written based on hits.

A great many people didn't like what they were reading, but I think that article started to make people think about what they were doing with their armies.  That was the point, even if I did get several negative emails about it.  Some second-guessing is much more preferable than ignorant assumptions.  ;)

I'm going to try and keep the same feel as the first article, so be warned that some of you won't like what you're about to see.  While what you'll be reading is obviously my opinion, I will not pull any punches in these Brutal Truth articles.  Don't get all offended over our little plastic and metal space dudes.

Expect to see these articles soon!  :)

Brother, were you walking around the battlefield without your helmet on again? We may be Templars, but our enemies get lucky every once in a while... ;)

lol! It won't be that bad, I hope. I might even do some self-bashing in the process. Should be fun. :D

Nay, he was not ready until he put on his helmet. That is a penance!

I pretty much agree with what you have said regarding this article, however I'm making it my mission to find a way to make a cc viable list Laeroth! I think I'm getting there too (if you care to check the latest list update I posted on the B&C)

I might rip out a variation of my CC build and give it a whirl on Saturday.

My number one problem: It is a foot list (using Typhoon Speeders for mobility) so it lacks flexibility. Just bang, bang, bang on the way in and then smash. If my Cyclones and Typhoons don't kill the enemy mobility, ooops.

I got the fix.

Run 3 of these with dual DCCW a TL-hvy flamer, and a hvy flamer.

Done!

@ Trignama

Haha. I look forward to you proving me wrong. I'll bust out the Hormagaunt Legs and BBQ Kroot for the show. :D

@ Algesan

Actually using a foot list eh? Well, good luck! Hopefully you don't face an IG or DE player! lol! Let me know how the game goes. :)

Taking a break from the falling pods outlook? Yeah. Last week was something completely different also (Sisters + IG), so I might just run my Helbrecht one this Saturday.

ML I finally got to the store yesterday to playtest that list I had up on the B&C. Those sword brethren were wrecking house! And their durabiity is great! I paired them up with a Crusader Squad in the list that has no special weapons and multicharged with them. They were able to drop Diago and 7 paladins after 3 turns of combat. Only 5 sword brethren were left, but hey I would consider that an accomplishment!
