So as many of you have noticed...there hasn't been much from me for about a month.  While there is a very good reason for that, I'm not going to go into it...mostly because I'd rather not think about it.  I'm trying to keep it all as far from my mind as possible.  I've had exactly zero drive to post, comment, or even play any games of 40k.  I'd log in every once in a while to B&C and comment if there was something, but it has been very rare the past 3-4 weeks.  Hell, I didn't even log into my email account, so there are like a billion emails I've got to get to.  I'm going to try to get back to everyone as soon as I feasibly can.

The good news is that sister's wedding is finished (last night), so I don't have to worry about that anymore at least.  Which frees up enough of my time to start posting some stuff again.  However, there is going to be a general lack of tactical based articles unless someone emails me specifically about something.  The reason?  Rumors say we have a new codex coming.  Very soon hopefully.  Not as soon as you might think, but...we'll see.  :D

Anyway, with a new codex so close, writing anything other than personal requests of the tactics nature are kind of a waste of time.  Anything I would post would be obsolete in a short span of time.  Thus, it'll be one of couple things primarily (with some exceptions).  I've been meaning to do more hobby-oriented things for a long time here on Implausible Nature.  Hopefully I'll inspire some people with my painting and the different styles I'm going to show.  Saving my posts for this type of thing gives me that opportunity, especially with the Dark Star GT coming up in two months.  Which brings me to the second thing:  list discussions.  I still will likely write about my lists in general as long as its applicable, as well as my 1850 list for the DS GT.  Still have to decide what I'm going to do for that as I have a couple lists in mind.  I'm currently the only Black Templars player signed up (60 players thus far out of 80).  Got to represent.

So yeah.  That's about it for now.  :P

It's only fair to point out at moment's like this that I enjoy reading your blog.

We may not share your enthusiasn for Black Templars but I enjoy your style nonetheless. It's always good to know what's going on in the other team's camp anyhow.

Finally, how did you come to possess such forbidden knowledge in the first place?

No worries ML, and you're right about the new book thing. Better save your energy buddy, gonna need it to revamp this site here shortly =)

@GDMNW - Well the basic way is to get an "in" who trusts you to keep your mouth shut. Or get invited onto a playtest team. Either one has worked for me in the past, although nobody is so anal about "rumors" until right before release as GW is.

@ML - Sooner would be better. The one thing I worry about is a new codex that requires a big restructuring of my forces (which it will, stupid gits won't go for my simple solution to keep the Templars distinct) right before NOVA that would mean buying & painting to the "3-color standard" a flock of new models.

I do with they would FAQ that assault rule like you were told it was supposed to read before they put 5th to bed. Just for my fun.

For anyone looking to paint Black Templars, here is a very useful article.

The article gives some great ideas for painting black, red and gold for Iron hands - but would work exceptionally for Templars.

@GDMNW

Well, didn't want to make it a rather long sob story about my life. Not what this blog is about (though on occasion, I do have some real life stuff thrown in). Just thought I'd give an explanation (albeit a poor one) of what's been going on.

As for the insider info, I got it directly from a reader. But I cannot really comment more on it, as they are "supposed" to be tight-lipped about codices unless its an authorized leak (which this wasn't). Thus, I keep my mouth shut cause I don't want people losing their jobs. :D

@ Trig

Heh. This place is going to get blown up, that's for sure. If I thought the FAQ was bad, a new codex is a million times worse. lol!

@ Algesan

...eek! I cannot comment. Its very difficult not to talk. I will say, however, if you do need to make changes...you should have time to make them.

I'm told the FAQ never got changed because they were in the middle of designing the new codex and it would have simply been a waste of time. Though, I'm not sure typing out a sentence in the FAQ with an answer is difficult...

@ Lucion

Every little tip and trick will be explored. I'm even going to try my hand at NMM. :D

Darn, I'm torn between shutting myself up with the codex for a month to figure out how to use it on my own, or to try to do it while also reading others' thoughts about it (from 3++, YTTH, here, and other various places).

One idea for tactics that you could post about would be more general tactics that aren't Black Templars specific. I'm not entirely sure, but if you looked at using Vassal pictures you could demonstrate some deployments (which always allude me as to how to use which ones). If you could keep it general enough to be used by numerous armies, then it would still be useful when the new codex comes out (unless they do something stupid, like have a minimum squad size of 12).

You've got an entrepreneurial spirit in you Laeroth! Is it what separates those want to be artists from those who can be artists.

@ML: Do they have a clue how chicken "stuff" and shoestring in makes GW look? Not necessarily just that, but the fact that they cannot even have someone (it wouldn't require a paid position) gather questions, forward them to a rules guru (there better be one with some clue), get an answer (since they should know how their design is supposed to work), type the answer into a word processor, get it proofread, convert it into a PDF and publish it?

GAH, there should have been a Necron FAQ out already to cover at least things like the two Royal Courts, conga line Scarabs & Entropic Strike. Maybe a couple more because these are all one sentence answers and they've been noticed for over a month.

@ Lucion

Haha. I'm not claiming that it'll be any good though! In fact, it'll probably be pretty bad the first few times. Its why I'm doing them on more display-type models. :D

@ John

I, unfortunately, don't own an airbrush. I wish I did. Would make painting my tanks much easier.

@ Devjon

You know that you don't want to hide away...learning together is better than learning solo! Saves time as people correct each other. ;)

As for general tactics stuff, that I can still do. I still have to do some how to beat certain armies articles for the BT 101 guide. Might even attempt Vassal for deployment guides as well. We'll see. Irregardless, need to get the painting stuff started, as well as finishing up my Nova reps.

@ Elessar

While I cannot guarantee anything, I think we're safe from that fate. Even if we aren't, I have pride enough in my army that I'll take what I get and roll with it. However, it is very rare for codex designers to write anything for WD...so yeah. ;)

Keep optimistic Laeroth, getting good at anything does not occur by studying a textbook written by professors.

Its about winning, failing and battling back to win again and again.

I would say NMM has a large learning curve , and at least in my experience,I aim to avoid using complex means of painting - when simple ones will suffice.
