I'm not dead...

I appreciate all of the emails checking on me, but I'm okay.  lol!  I decided that I was going to put everything online off to the side for a few weeks, so I could get everything painted for Nova.  There has been a couple of hitches along the way, but those are more my fault than anything else.  My list changed slightly because I thought I had more bits than I did (needed 4 sets of TH/SS...only had one).  Apparently I gave them away and I don't remember it.  Oh well, guess I'm rolling with 4 TH/SS and 3 LC.  lol!  It'll definitely make that squad...interesting...on the board.

In the end, I should be 4-5 colors on everything by the time I get on the plane for DC.  Not "finished" but good enough.  My Rhinos are dangerously close to a full finished product, but I won't be able to get the battle damage done in time.  My IG troops will be "done" as well, primarily because I don't really care to make them uber-Golden Daemon quality work.  They are, after all, one of many countless billions of souls.  The Chimeras were Purity Sealed, but I'll go back later on and clean them up.  I'm not entirely happy with the way they turned out...didn't get the colors exactly the way I wanted.  That'll learn me to use an airbrush next time!  :)

Other than that, I'm pretty sure I'm going to do game updates on my Twitter account.  So you can keep an eye on that if you want, otherwise...I might have internet access to do battle reports while I'm there, but not sure if I want to cough up the billion dollars for it yet though.  Otherwise, expect them right after I'm back.  As well as the full on 6th Edition updates to Implausible Nature.  I kind of want to get some GT experience in 6th Edition before I make sweeping claims about the Black Templars.  That is part of why I'm waiting so long to do them.

Should be able to get some more games on the side since Nova isn't as "full" this time around.  Get there in the afternoon this Thursday.  Plenty of time for a tune up game with Algesan, if you're still willing to have a go at it.  I should be free for anyone else later in the evening if you want.  I'm not sure whom of you guys/gals are attending.  ;)

Implausible Nature Forum

8/9/2012

Good afternoon!  This is a short one, basically letting everyone know one of three things.  The first, you might have already noticed:  there is a forum on Implausible Nature now.  Yay!  This forum is definitely not meant to replace B&C, but will be used as a place for questions and list inquiries for BT players out there.  Much like Stelek does on YTTH.  I talk about all this a little bit more in detail here.  :)

The second is that I'll be updating the Black Templars 101 guide periodically over the next month or so.  If you randomly see a page locked (requires a password), don't fret...its likely that I'm not done making the changes to that page yet.  The bulk of this work will be done after Nova Open 2012 at the end of August, but there are some things I can do now.

Lastly, the BT unit analysis will continue with the Elites section this weekend.  I hope you are getting something useful out of it thus far and never hesitate to challenge me on something you read.  Likewise, if you feel I'm missing something, let me know.  If its a big enough thing, I am certainly not averse to adding it.  ;)

Black Templars Unit Analysis:  Transports in 6th Edition

Hello again everyone!  Its time to move on to the next portion of my unit analysis, the Black Templars Transports.  Unfortunately for us, we only have a few to choose from:  the Rhino, Razorback, and Drop Pod.  Which is pretty standard fare for Space Marine armies.  These vehicles were integral to our armies in 5th Edition, so let's take a look at them in today's environment.  Will they play as big a part as they did previously?  Or is everyone correct in their doomsday predictions that mechanization is dead?  We'll just have to see now won't we?  ;)

Note:  Both variations of our Land Raiders can transport units as well, but I'll be doing those in the Heavy Support article.
