As I previously mentioned, there is a Grand Tournament taking place for the first time in recent memory here in Minnesota. The Dark Star GT is being put on by the same people that put on the hugely popular North Star Tournament. Being Minnesotan, there is absolutely no excuse as to why I cannot make to this tournament. Thus, tickets are purchased and my travel arrangements are made. Upon closer inspection, however, it looks like they reduced the player total from 80 to 60, so that is slightly disappointing. It also uses INAT FAQ, so that is also somewhat annoying. Still, a GT in Minnesota! It might be my last opportunity to show off the old Black Templars before they are updated.
I hope ya'll are having a great holiday season and everyone has an amazing day. :D
So as many of you have noticed...there hasn't been much from me for about a month. While there is a very good reason for that, I'm not going to go into it...mostly because I'd rather not think about it. I'm trying to keep it all as far from my mind as possible. I've had exactly zero drive to post, comment, or even play any games of 40k. I'd log in every once in a while to B&C and comment if there was something, but it has been very rare the past 3-4 weeks. Hell, I didn't even log into my email account, so there are like a billion emails I've got to get to. I'm going to try to get back to everyone as soon as I feasibly can.
The good news is that sister's wedding is finished (last night), so I don't have to worry about that anymore at least. Which frees up enough of my time to start posting some stuff again. However, there is going to be a general lack of tactical based articles unless someone emails me specifically about something. The reason? Rumors say we have a new codex coming. Very soon hopefully. Not as soon as you might think, but...we'll see. :D
Anyway, with a new codex so close, writing anything other than personal requests of the tactics nature are kind of a waste of time. Anything I would post would be obsolete in a short span of time. Thus, it'll be one of couple things primarily (with some exceptions). I've been meaning to do more hobby-oriented things for a long time here on Implausible Nature. Hopefully I'll inspire some people with my painting and the different styles I'm going to show. Saving my posts for this type of thing gives me that opportunity, especially with the Dark Star GT coming up in two months. Which brings me to the second thing: list discussions. I still will likely write about my lists in general as long as its applicable, as well as my 1850 list for the DS GT. Still have to decide what I'm going to do for that as I have a couple lists in mind. I'm currently the only Black Templars player signed up (60 players thus far out of 80). Got to represent.
So yeah. That's about it for now. :P
This video was created by the fine gentlemen over at Rites of Battle. Thought it was fun, so I'm posting it up here for all to enjoy. :)
My tickets for the Nova Open 2012 event are purchased. Better pick up yours before they are all gone! :D
As much as I would love to go off on a list building spree, I think it might be a waste of time doing it for Nova Open. Primarily because the new Black Templars codex is likely to be released prior to the event in August and I will have to create totally new lists anyway. I'll stick to building lists for the other two GTs (well, only one at the moment) I'm attending this Spring/Early Summer, since its unlikely a new codex will be out by then.
Which would be my preference, as I decided that my Black Templars will be my permanent Grand Tournament army. I just felt like I was betraying my over ten years of playing the BT if I would have brought the Dark Eldar. So I'll keep my DE for the more local tournament level stuff. They are more for a change of pace anyway. ;)
This blog is devoted to the Black Templars chapter and the tactics, list building, and general musing associated with them. Readers will see occasional posts from Marshal Laeroth.
