The time is nearing...!

As most of my Black Templar brethren already know, BT are going to be put into the upcoming C:SM book.  Regardless of your opinion of that, it means we're going to have new rules to work with.  First off, until we have a codex in our hands...rumors are just that.  Rumors.  The most "accurate" ones to date are from a guy who playtested an early edition of the codex and is giving his notes on the codex to 40k Radio (and specifically BT).  A lot of time for things to change people.  So no freaking out on IN until the codex comes out.  Go do that on B&C.  I love my Black Templars and I WILL use them to win competitive games.  And I will hopefully help others do the same.  Even if the rumors turn out to be 100% accurate.  There is a lot of potential there.  Second:  I want Sternguard/Vanguard Veterans (I mean, Sword Brethren).  Badly.  Ahem.  :P

Next topic:  A good many of you probably have noticed my half-assed attempt at updating IN for 6th Edition.  Well, it was for good reason.  First, I was busy IRL.  Second, I didn't want to put in hundreds of hours of work into something (like the 1st Edition of BT 101) when birdies were telling me updates soon.  So, there ya go.  However, with that being said...we are a go once our "new" codex is released.  But I'll need help.  I simply don't have the free time anymore to do it entirely alone.  I don't know what form that "help" needs to be, as of yet.  But if I want to get everything up to par as quickly as possible, High Marshal Helbrecht will need to call a crusade to get it all finished!  A call to arms.  Without knowing specifics (because I don't really have any atm), are there any that would be willing to put a few hours or more into the project?  Again, I don't know what that help will entail, how much of it will be needed, or who of the volunteers I'll enlist.  But I'd like to know ahead of time what kind of reinforcements I can expect.  :D

If you need some help ML once I have the book in my hands I can write up some tactics articles or general uses for ya. I play enough, against a lot of different armies, and really good players to get pretty in-depth.

I can just email things for you to proof-read, and if you like what you see you can just copy/paste them onto your site.

Sure, depending on how the new codex actually turns out. I'll let you know for sure after I read a copy.

Well, I got some commentary yesterday from someone semi-local to me. I cannot vouch for the quality of the source's information until I see the codex, but I know enough about the source to say that it is entirely possible that he could have acquired contacts that would make him privy to what he said in passing while we were playing in a little pickup tournament.

The bare bones: The rumors out now are valid for a test codex a couple iterations old. There were several changes made, including some more fitting with the traditional in-their-face Black Templar play. Another brief comment said some of the weaker "core" chapter tactics rules had been changed to something stronger.

Wishlisting by someone? I have no clue, I didn't have time to pursue the issue to get a better confidence. So it is just someone who might know said things might be better. Heh, now you are spammed with an urban legend rumor.

I don't mind the rumors cropping up here...but I do mind the negative emotions that come from such rumors. Basically, I didn't want raging here. lol.

However, what your guy/gal said is consistent with what 40k Radio admitted about their dude. If the 6th Edition Rulebook "leak" is an indicator, lots of changes are in store for us when the final product is on the shelves.

The saddest part about the "Heretic 6th Edition" was that it had several mechanics that would have improved the game system that unfortunately didn't make the cut in 6th. Of course, it also had some utter crap, with some of the crap mixed in with the better parts.

The problem comes with part of the reason for rants...if Land Raiders get made into Superheavy Tanks, then everybody, even those group it doesn't make any sense for (like Eldar) "has" to get one too. Bad (and lazy) game design choice if one is looking for variant styles of play.

I'm not sure how much help I can be on the competitive side of gaming, as I am more on the casual side of the hobby. But I would be happy to help in any way I could. This site has helped me, both when I broke into the hobby and as I've played Black Templar. I would be happy to give back in any way that I could to help out the next wave of Templar players this update may provide.

Hehe. I'm sure that there will be need of your talents. The casual side of the game is where my weaknesses lie. ;)

Hey, any way I can help out I'm down. I have done some writing and some editing in my previous life, both for fiction and non-fiction. I'm super hardcore about the Templars and I want this resource to flourish. I also have a good pool of guys who are very into being competitive and one of them is a math savant, which helps. You've helped me create winning lists in the past so I'd love to pay it forward to the community.

Glad to have your support! It's appreciated. :D

@ Spaguatyrine

Unfortunately, I could not validate the cost of traveling there this year with a big expense coming up for me in the next couple months. As much as I wanted to go. I'll be there next year for sure though. I loved my last couple years there. Sadly, I have to wait a whole year for that to happen again... :'(

I can write, not sure what I would write. Tactical articles and army lists? I'm much more of a guy who tries the outlandish army lists and sees what sticks, but if there's a use for that...

I'd be happy to help, just give the word on what you need. Your 101 has certainly done too much to help me fore me to not offer up help.

I found your BT 101 super helpful when I was getting back into the hobby a few years ago. I would love to work on helping building it up / editing / formatting, etc to make it the best it can be.

I've gotten into Warmachine a lot recently and am really looking forward to a refresh to get back into the 40k world (I went with the warmachine BT equivalent, Protectorate of Menoth :P)

Wowza! Definitely got more of a response than I anticipated! I should clarify. The Black Templars 101 will be written, edited, etc by me...since that is kind of what Implausible Nature is know for. However, as you guys have probably noted...there is much more to IN than just that. It is likely this is where the help will be needed. ;)

Sounds good. I'd love to help with some of the website stuff (as that's what I do for a living) I'd be great to see a new and improved gallery, more prominent, better UI, and more content!

Unfortunately, I am limited to what Weebly allows me to do as far as galleries, UI's, etc. However, the more content I'm certainly keen on, as it will make IN a better static website with or without input from the community. :)
