Great news!  Tournament season!  My first scheduled tournament is a local one...WAAGH! Fest.  Sporting 64 players, but its a great get back on the horse tourney.  Feels good.  Time to show everyone what the Black Templar can do.

Would you mind explaining the idea behind that list? Ive never heard of a bt list that looked anything like that! How does it take advantage of our chapter tactics?

Hello! I'll be completely honest, it primarily came from the desire to build a more mobile version of my "Defensive" Drop Pod list that you can find on my list page. No matter how much shooting there was in an opponent's list, giving them tons of targets gave them a huge problem and allowed me to be where I want to be, when I wanted to be there.

The list itself does not contain what looks to be the most durable units. However, between redundancy, jink, sheer mobility, and blind, you'll find its far more durable than it seems. Our Scouts are armed with Power Swords and CCW's to help in CC. As far as how it meshes with our chapter tactics, I'll explain:

1) High Marshal Helbrecht. He gives the list its unpredictable, albeit incredibly strong, kill button. With proper positioning, you can do a lot of damage with the timely use of this ability.

2) Crusader -- If the LSS goes down, it gives the Scouts the ability to get into cover quickly and reliably, so they are not in direct fire. Likewise, it allows them to contest/claim objectives in the endgame reliably.

3) Righteous Zeal -- With 4+ armor, you are bound to take a casualty which activates that ability. The scouts are essentially marines with worse armor, so they will still do damage.

4) Adamantium Will -- With the prevalence of psykers, this ability gives us additional "oomph" to protect us. Is it reliable? Not exactly, but an additional +1 on that roll is definitely helpful. You'll be surprised how often it will Deny.

5) MSU -- Multiple Small Units is huge in this list in that you'll activate much more of our abilities, more often. It also gives redundancy and bubblewrap. There are innumerable reasons why MSU is a good way to go.

Hope this helps!

Good luck to your gaming. That looks like it should function in a similar manner to the old DDP with a lot less heavy firepower. Heh, all of that stuff used to have the ability to deep strike.
